Coronation Drive Office Park Building 4
This office building at the corner of Coronation Drive and Hale Street consists of a ground floor podium, 12 storey office tower and 2 levels of basement car parking.
The site was geotechnically challenging with contaminated soil from an old Brisbane City Council train depot and located over an old creek alignment which over time filled in with soft marine clays. Key design features of the project designed by MPN included:
- Soldier pile and shotcrete shoring systems for basement retention.
- Co-ordination of structural column layouts between basement and office tower to minimize the number of structural transfers required at ground floor podium level.
- Economical post tensioned floor plates which minimized floor to floor heights and floor cycle times.
- A precast façade framing system that is aesthetically striking in both shape and form.
