MPN’s expertise was called upon to provide engineering solutions for this geo-technically challenging project in the suburb of Milton, Brisbane.

The office park located on the corner of Coronation Drive and Hale Street, has a ground floor podium, a twelve-storey office tower and two levels of basement car parking.

The geo-technical complexity was due to contaminated soil from an old Brisbane City Council train depot and its location over an old creek alignment that had filled in with soft marine clays. Key design features of the project included:
• Soldier pile and shotcrete shoring systems for basement retention.
• Co-ordination of structural column layouts between basement and office tower to minimize the number of structural transfers required at ground floor podium level.
• Economical post tensioned floor plates which minimized floor to floor heights and floor cycle times.
• A precast façade framing system that is aesthetically striking in both shape and form.
